Nutmeg Hallett

Associate Professor of Mental Health Nursing at the University of Birmingham, England. Her research focuses on reducing harm and increasing safety in mental health services. Her research portfolio covers patient-defined harm, de-escalation, ward culture and post-incident responses (debriefing), integrating lived and staff experiences to inform safer and more equitable care. Her works spans systematic reviewing, realist approaches and co-produced intervention development to support implementation and service improvement. She is a member of the National Institute Health and Care Excellence (NICE) committee updating violence and aggression guidance and a specialist committee member for the associated NICE Quality Standards. Within EViPRG she co-leads Early Career Researcher integration with Tessa Maguire.
